  1. Step 1

    Export your menu

    In your current POS, use its menu or item export to download an Excel or CSV file. Keep item names, categories, prices and veg/non-veg.

  2. Step 2

    Import it into SmartPOS

    Restaurant → Menu setup → Import menu. Our Petpooja-style template maps the columns for you; takeaway and delivery prices come across too.

  3. Step 3

    Set GST, FSSAI and UPI

    Your GST status (5% restaurant rate if registered), the FSSAI licence printed on bills, and your UPI ID for exact-amount bill QR codes.

  4. Step 4

    Draw your floor

    Areas and tables with seats. Counter and cloud-kitchen outlets skip this: they run on tokens.

  5. Step 5

    Add staff

    Cashiers, waiters and the kitchen sign in with a one-time phone code or a 4-digit PIN on a shared tablet.

  6. Step 6

    Connect printers

    Any 58/80 mm printer the browser can reach, or network kitchen printers through the SmartPOS print agent: no print dialog.

  7. Step 7

    Run a test day

    Take a few orders end to end while the old system is still on. The go-live checklist in the app ticks itself off as you go.

Questions before you switch

Will I lose my old sales history?

Your old POS keeps its history; export its reports for your records. SmartPOS starts fresh from your first bill, and its day-end and item reports export to Excel and Tally.

Can I keep Swiggy and Zomato?

Yes. Enter their orders at the counter with the platform order ID, and reconcile payouts and commission in SmartPOS. A direct menu sync needs a partner agreement with the platforms and is not available yet.

Do I need new hardware?

No. SmartPOS runs in the browser on your tablet, laptop or phones and prints to the printers you have.
